about hertford360

hertford360 is a global challenge for a global network

Team Hertford will be virtually circumnavigating the globe – 40,075km – to raise £300,000 for student support. Whether you cycle, run, swim or walk, how far will you go for #TeamHertford?

Your challenge

Pick your challenge from the list below, and choose whether to cycle, run, walk or swim – or a mixture of all four!

  • 360km > Oxford to Galway
  • 1080km > Oxford to Berlin
  • 1800km > Oxford to Rome
  • 2880km > Oxford to Moscow
  • 3600km > Oxford to San Francisco

Clock up the kilometres over a few days, weeks or months. This is a challenge you can do wherever you are in the world, at your own pace, and whenever you have time!

From our launch date of 1 January, the challenge takes place over seven months. So 360km works out as 12km/week and 1,800km is 64km/week.

Registration

By registering, you will be joining Team Hertford – and every time you do your activity of choice, your distances will contribute to the team’s cumulative distance. Every kilometre helps us to reach our goal!

Virtually circumnavigating the globe is no easy feat, but with hard work (and some help from your friends) it is within reach – a bit like an Oxford education!

And you’ll be able to track Team Hertford’s progress on the interactive dial on the home page.

How it works

Sign up, connect your tracking app, like Strava or MapMyFitness (you can also add your kilometres manually), and get moving!

Whether it’s your daily travel to work, your Sunday-funday in the park, or your hardcore weekend team ride – it all counts. And since no challenge is complete without a little competition, every kilometre will be tracked on your page and the hertford360 leaderboard.

How your support helps

hertford360 is part of our #TeamHertford campaign, seeking to raise £300,000 for student support. When you register, you can choose to set up a regular donation, or fundraise from your friends to support your challenge. By getting involved, you will be supporting Hertford students and helping them to reach and realise their potential.

All funds raised will go to bursaries, hardship grants, scholarships and outreach.

Your gift

To register for this event, you can either:

  • > Make a minimum gift of £10 per month for 12 months.
  • > Are you a student or recent graduate? You can register with a £2 per month gift for 24 months.
  • > Free for donors giving £120 or more a year (of course, you have the option to make an extra gift or fundraise on top too!).
  • > Pay a registration fee of £20, and raise £150 from friends, family and colleagues.

And remember, every penny of your gift will be spent on supporting our students.
